You have taken the first step in teaching your children about the significance of Holy Week. Let us explain why we believe this cookie kit is so important.
As North Americans, we all celebrate Easter in many different ways, but the most common include Easter baskets, egg hunts, baby chicks, and new clothes for Sunday morning church services. Although there is nothing at all wrong with any of these things, Easter is so much bigger than dyed eggs or bunnies. As Christians, Easter is a celebration of Christ’s resurrection and the new life He gives us. It’s a time to reflect on the true sacrifice that was made on our behalf. We’ve prepared this kit to help families experience and understand the significance and the gravity of what Jesus’ death and resurrection mean for EACH of us.
Passion Week takes place between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. The name represents the suffering the Jesus endured when He went to the cross. He did this to pay for the sins of all of His people. That’s ALL of us! This kit is designed to help stimulate meaningful discussions for your family each day of Passion Week.
The kit includes eight daily devotions for your family throughout the entire week. It includes a different daily cookie that will serve as a teaching element, or focal point, for you to use as part of your daily experience. The time you spend going through the devotions can be a short or as long as you choose to make it. Tailor the messages to the level of understanding and comprehension of your family. Do not feel the pressure to read each day word for word. Make it your own! The important thing is that you make a commitment as a family to experience the week together.
Our prayer is for this kit to open the doors for your family to have meaningful moments and conversations together, so that together, you can grow in the understanding and appreciation for the love, grace, mercy, and unconditional acceptance that Jesus has for each and every one of us.
